1941 Cadillac 61

History and strong points
This Cadillac is a true time capsule and drives like a dream. Its original 8 cylinder engine runs perfectly. With its beautiful design and indestructible mechanics, Cadillac wanted to expand its position in the luxury market. Thanks to the new input of the young William L. "Bill" Mitchell, to whom we also owe the models of the late 1930s, there were many modern innovations on the car. For example, the accessibility of the engine was much better. The car also has a special heating system powered by blowers under the seats. This is also the first car with the legendary "Hydramatic" automatic gearbox. In 1941 Cadillac released 6 different versions. This 61 series with a Fisher body is the fastback version, derived from the aerodynamic coupes of the 1930s. 1941 was also the last pre-war production year of luxury cars for Cadillac. After this she switched to building military vehicles, mainly tanks. The same engine was used for this, namely the Ninety degree, L-head, 8 cylinders (flathead) / 346cu.in. (5.7 liters). In WWII, this model car was also used as a Staff car.
