Description

1959 Austin Healey 3000 Mk1 Jamaican Coupe Originally exported to the USA in 1960 as an ivory white BT7 4 seater . As with all old sports cars fell into disrepair and was turned into a Fibrefab Jamaican in the late 60`s . These stylish sports coupe bodies designed by Chris Beeb were available for installation onto Healey , TR and MGA chassis . Fibrefab were based in California and were renowned for producing a range of stylish bodies for cars . Named after the company owners wife the Jamaican was the best looking . Notoriously difficult to build to a high standard many remained unfinished making driving examples very rare . This is possibly 1 of 4 or 5 Healey based driving cars Purchased by the current owner as a project some years ago he originally rebuilt the Healey into a race car which did very well in a number of races over the last 5 years. AMOC, HRDC and BDC all welcomed entries with a few wins 82mph lap average at Mallory . A full frame off nut and bolt rebuild was carried out at that time . More recently he  returned the car to road spec to make it a pleasure to drive on the road and back to LHD with European road trips in mind . It still has the roll cage ( with scrutineering stickers still intact ) and race harnesses , the drive chain now is fully rebuilt road spec Healey 3000 mk1 running gear 130 BHP , stainless exhaust. Registered in his name with up to date V5c . The custom bucket seats have been covered in leather and had cushions made for more cabin comfort . Matching leather door cards where also custom made . A full professional repaint has also just been completed at a cost of £000`s and the car looks stunning in all lights from every angle . New headlight covers shipped in from the USA to finish it off . New tinted front screen and also glazed rear window and chrome trims . No expense has been spared on this unique car it has been his pride and joy for the time he owned it . A lot of paperwork about Fibrefab and the Jamaican project which  will be passed on to the new owner along with the heritage certificate. Ideally suited to drivers under 5`10" head room is limited .
